World Cup Semi Finals

After some exciting quarter-final action, the four prevailing Soccer powerhouses square-up as the World Cup reaches the semi-final stage.

Today sees Germany take on Brazil in only their second ever meeting in the competition, their previous clash coming in Brazil's 2002 World Cup triumph in Japan. Current Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari was the mastermind behind that win however, Joachim Low and his Germany team will aim to spoil their hopes of a sixth trophy by taking victory in Belo Horizonte.

On Wednesday, Argentina face Holland in the second semi-final at Arena Corinthians. Argentina disposed of a highly-rated Belgium side courtesy of a narrow 1-0 victory in the last eight, whilst Holland overcame a spirited Costa Rica team on penalties. The Dutch now set their sights on featuring in a second consecutive final but must overcome Argentina, who will be keen to make the most of their first semi-final appearance in 24 years.
