The Manchester Derby Preview

Sunday see’s the first of this seasons Manchester Derbies and with both sides currently in inconsistent form, it’s set up to be a great match.

Having won only 2 of the last 6 league derbies, Louis Van Gaal will be looking to achieve something that previous manager David Moyes could not and wrestle the crown of the North West from Manuel Pellegrini.

Although City currently sit 4 points clear of United, recent defeats to Stoke City & West Ham have questioned their ability to defend their League title, especially given the form of Chelsea, and this could create a real battle between the 2 Manchester sides this season.

United, having strengthened heavily in the summer, are hoping to put behind them the dreadful 2013/14 campaign and build a side with the ability to challenge for the title once again.

Robin Van Persie’s 94th minute equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea last weekend, in addition to far outweighing their opposition with 19 shots to 9, was reminiscent of the United of old and priced at 3/1 to beat City could offer some great value.

Given the form of both sides and the number of defensive errors already this season, predicting the outcome of this match may prove difficult and therefore it may be worth looking at bet365’s ‘Unlimited Places on First Scorer E/W Bets’ promotion.

Sergio Aguero is favourite to score first at 15/4 following 4 goals in the recent demolition of Tottenham. Although, with Yaya Toure and David Silva both doubtful, Samir Nasri could be a good option at 10/1 given his historical goal scoring form against Man United.

With United looking to register their first away win of the season, it’s difficult to suggest that it will come at the home of their local rivals. However, with new signing Angel Di Maria’s recent performances, anything looks possible. Di Maria is currently 11/1 to score first and as United’s top scorer in the league, is well worth considering.

In addition to the above, with the Bore Draw Money Back offer even a goalless draw is never the worst result with bet365 – if you place a pre-match Correct Score, Half-Time/Full-Time or Scorecast bet on any Soccer match and the game finishes 0-0, bet365 will refund all losing bets on those markets.

You can watch live football on your PC throughout the season by going to bet365.

As usual you will be able to bet live in-play on all of the weekend matches at bet365.
